Ok I'm finally stepping up to a "real" graphics card, I've narrowed it down to a few. My question is will there be a noticeable difference between and if so which one will perform the best between the 1. ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX Boost clock 1835MHz
2. ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX OC Edition 1936MHz
3. ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 8GB 11Gbps Advanced Edition 1822MHz
4. MSI Gaming GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X 1847MHz OC mode
personally I would rather stick with ASUS since all my other components are the ROG and/or Strix. If the best card won't perform $100 better than card 1 then the ASUS Boost 1835MHz is gonna be my new best friend :). Thanks

Not really. Keep in mind that GPU Boost 3.0 is extremely sensitive so what you see in specs can easily change depending on your ambient temps. Plus it's stupidly easy to get higher boost clocks simply by making fan speeds a bit higher and increasing the power limit. So no overclocking required to get better clock speeds.

The brand or the factory oc or different styles of coolers doesn't matters .These pascal cards can oc itself by gpu 3.0 as long as the temps are pretty low .Any of those coolers can keep then under 65c at load .So just buy the lower priced card and oc it yourself in MSI afterburner .The top of the line cards never have history of extreme OCS .Its just the fancy coolers ,little bit higher stock frequencies and different power circuitry with extra phase those doesn't matters bcoz higher clock speeds are based on silicon lottery .So buy the lower priced card and oc it as high as possible

Ok then with that idea because they all have the same base clock, of 1607MHz
1. ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Turbo has a boost of 1733MHz and is about 80 bucks less than the
2. ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 8GB 11Gbps Advanced Edition 1822MHz
Oddly enough the non boost ROG strix ed is almost $700 so can't go that route but I think ill go with number 2 simply for the fact of the 3 fans vs the one fan on the Turbo.

Yep i'd get the STRIX for sure. The blower style cooler on the first one is just like the FE card so it runs really hot vs other cards.

You've just answered your own question, more or less... Each card has slightly different factory clocks. As far as cooling options/further OC potential, there may be variables between each. I don't know as I've not looked up the cards/viewed them.

Sometimes you just need to talk it out lol
