every time i find a free antivirus site for the mac it scans it and then tells me i have to pay for them to fix! (WTF then why say its free to begin with)

any way is there a free anti-virus site that i dont have to pay at all please

OK, fun aside, Norton, Comodo, Avira and Avast all have antivirus solutions for macs...
Dunno which is better, but they do exist and they are free...
Also, Kaspersky had an iOS antivirus, but that one costs about $10...

Yes Sophos is free and it is good to use. I have it for over 1 1/2 years and no problems ever with it.

I've used Avast Free on my hackintosh with pretty good results. The boot-time heuristics scan is a pretty nice function as well. MacOS is pretty well locked up, but the biggest weaknesses are independent apps and email vulnerabilities. Look for email scanning.
