Hello guys, I'm just getting my old PC, a HP Pavilion a6632f, upgraded and my parents are moving me into a different room. I have everything for the Pavilion, except a monitor. I would like to know what would be a good monitor/screen that can be used for other things, such a regular TV and for gaming (both PC gaming and console gaming). I'm not very knowledgeable about PC, or electronics in general, but I am getting my computer upgraded, that way I can keep up with today's games. My Pavilion will be getting its RAM upgraded from 4 GB to 8 GB (which is the max my motherboard can handle, IPIBL-BL), and I will be adding a XFX Radeon HD 7750, which can handle a natural resolution of 2550 x 1440 I believe. As stated in the title, I want this monitor/screen to be all-purpose basically, without having to constantly be changing cords and all. I will have HD TV(Directv) and will be hooking up, primarily, my PS2. Currently, I don't have a budget, but I would say my max would be $700, and I'm not looking to have a huge monitor/screen, so a 30 inch would likely be my max. Anyway, thanks for everyone who are able to help, also there is no rush as it'll be a while before I move into the next room and get the computer all set.

Ok a monitor that you will most likely match your purpouses are a 1080p TV which has multiple HDMI ports as that is used on most of your devices an it has AV for your N64

Thank you, but just out of curiousity, what do you think my computer can handle. I don't know every part, I do know it has a IPIBL-BL motherboard, and will have 8GB of RAM, XFX Radeon HD 7750 1GB, and an Intel Core2 E6600. What do you think would be the max resolution setting it can handle without "straining" itself(overheating, crashing, etc.)?

Sorry if I ask too many questions, but gaming-wise would a 1440 x 900 monitor be fine for my setup?(wish I knew more about this stuff) Thanks for all the answers btw.

Thanks again, I'm looking at the monitor and it seems i can use a HDMI and VGA. However, Ima need a HDMI input to connect my Directv set, an AV port for my old systems (PS2), and either another HDMI or DVI input for the PC. I know this demanding a lot, so is there anything like this that exists? I've been looking around myself but I'm not doing to well. Sorry, I feel like a dope cuz I know so little.

- 1 HDMI: for TV purposes
- 1 HDMI/DVI: for PC
- 1 HDMI/AV: for old system (likely need AV to HDMI converter)
Hope this clears things up.

Awesome, that seems to be what I need for an adapter. Now as for the monitor, I'm guessing one that has 2 HDMI inputs and 1 DVI input, right?

OK, Thank you so much again for all the help. I think this monitor will be my best option, and sorry for being a pain. lol
