Question Is there a noticeable difference in games between DDR5 at 6000 vs 4800 on a 7700x?

I am wondering if there is any performance difference because I am thinking about lowering the speed to increase system stability. (not that it is unstable right now, but just to make it less likely to become unstable in the future)

There's usually a measurable performance difference but it'll mostly affect 1% lows with averages not really budging much. But to really make use of faster RAM, it also needs to be as low latency as possible. That's where the performance gains tend to be in gaming.

I've had a 25% CPU overclock (2.6 to 3.25GHz) go unstable after 5 years. No doubt the higher voltage increased the rate of electromigration.

It all depends on how long you intend to keep your system.

Overclock now and regret later, or run stock and wish for more speed.

Check if anyone has run a comparison of memory speed improvements for your game(s), then run a few game benchmarks at 4800 and 6000MT/s.

I'm running 2x32GB DDR5 at 4800MT/s on a 7950X for stability in long video renders (up to 36 hours). I don't want the PC crashing near the end of a long run and have to start over.
