Question Is there a possible way of resetting my mother board and the other components to be like when I first hooked everything up the first day?

After having my new built PC and using it and playing games for a month, I now get the error win32full.sys failed. My computer used to unexpectedly close me out of my Witcher 3 game or would restart unexpectedly. I decided to download the mediatoolcreation from the Microsoft website on my other old PC, create the windows10 tool in my USB memory stick drive, and attempt to install windows10 in my new PC again. Before installing windows10 again, I reset my bios to factory settings. Along with the windows10 tool in my USB drive, I added the latest bios P4.10 and installed it to my motherboard. After installing the Microsoft Windows partition on my SSD, having already deleted all other old partitions, and going in through the process of installing windows 10, I still get the error win32full.sys failed and forces me to reboot the computer and I have to install the the partition again using the Microsoft Windows tool. I do it again and it always gives me the error win32full.sys failed when I try to install Windows 10.

what are the specs of the PC?

sometimes i see win32full.sys crashes associated with Nvidia drivers.
Its part of the windows kernel and not something I normally see tied to installer errors.

Did you delete C drive as well? you mention deleting all other partitions, what did you do yo C? clean install should have wiped all partitions

I’m not sure if there was a C: drive in the partitions, only a recovery partition and like two other.

My PC specs are:

CPU: i7-8700K
Cooler: be quiet Dark Rock4, BK021, 200W TDP
GPU: ZOTAC gaming GeForce RTX2060 TwinFan
Motherboard: ASROCK Z390 Extreme4
RAM: 2x8GB G.Skill Aegis
PSU: EVGA Super Nova 650 G+, 80 plus
SSD: Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND
HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 2TB
ODD: LG Internal Super Multi Drive
Case: RV02B-EW

try deleting all partitions and see if it changes anything.

Would you get BSOD on these occasions or it would just restart? Its unusual for same part of windows to be blamed for BSOD before and during install process.

Most of the errors with this file name are related to out of date drivers, or windows updates. There is a stage during install it gets updates, is pc connected to internet at all? having it unconnected might get past that stage.

I think problem is physical though. Normally if you get errors during install process its ram.

Try running memtest86 on another PC and make a USB to test ram in your PC. Run it on each of your ram sticks, one stick at a time, up to 4 passes. Only error count you want is 0, any higher could be cause of the BSOD. Remove/replace ram sticks with errors.

another potential cause of that error is the boot drive itself. difficult to test it without windows. Crucial don't have a test tool that works outside windows.

You can test the HDD using - Download Seatools bootable - https://www.seagate.com/au/en/support/downloads/seatools/

try using the onboard graphics on motherboard, remove GPU, only have ssd and 1 stick of ram attached. need to reduce variables to see if we can get windows on.

Ok, Colif. So, I removed the CMOS battery and left it removed for like 3-4 hours (cuz I had to go do something personal) and then placed it back in, also disconnected the GPU, used the onboard HDMI instead, and one of the ram cards. When I turned on the computer and went on UEFI mode the bios reset to P 00 something. So, I used the fast flash install option with the same bios I had downloaded the very firs time I hooked up the PC and did the very first install process. Then, I did the memtest86, and fortunately, no errors at all. It took like 2hrs and 15mins for 4 run passes though lol. Then went ahead and installed Windows (using my SSD unallocated space and without touching the system reserved partition), and after that, no errors so far. I installed Windows 10 pro with no problem with no internet (I didn’t plugged my Lan cable at anytime). However, after Windows had finished the final settings and I was customizing some preferences like having the pc icon on the desktop and making files show extensions such as .exe, etc..., the computer crashed and showed me the error win32full.sys, yet again. ;(

Any thoughts why it still gives me the error?
I hadn’t plugged my internet Lan cable at any moment, neither set up a WiFi connection.

The PC restarted and I put my password to login and no crashes so far. I’m going to plug my Lan cable to get some internet and let the Windows updates finish the other updates.

So, Windows Update gets stuck on checking for updates and doesn’t download and install any updates at all. It then says no updates available will check daily for new updates or gives an encounter error 0x80080005. Also, sometimes the pc crashes while waiting for Windows Update to its thing, and gives me the error what failed win32full.sys and the stopcode😛AGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

the error code 0x80080005 is a windows update error. Have you tried running windows update troubleshooter? its in settings/update & security/troubleshoot, under Get up and running.

what build number are you on?
right click start
choose run...
type winver and press enter
current build number is 18132.175 (though there is a newer versions since I can see an update sitting waiting for me to download)

Page fault in nonpaged area. Well, the non paged area is ram but it doesn't mean its ram to blame, most drivers also run in there.

Can you follow option one on the following link - here - and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD

that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD
copy that file to documents
upload the copy from documents to a file sharing web site, and share the link here and I will get someone to convert file into a format I can read

So, I’m running Windows 10 Home version 1903 (OS Build 18363.207)

Here’s the link for 5 mini dumps files that were created.

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AsmZ7fvCPkgog5E_k5zbefK5WNZhLQ?e=AQxHRJ

Let me know what they tell you.

Btw, I was running Windows on Safe Mode once, and it never gave me any errors or restarted on its on. But I couldn’t update anything, and even not running on Safe Mode, Windows updates only downloads and installs some updates and then it says I’m up to date, which isn’t true, I’m missing many many updates.

Also, whenever I try to install or run a 3rd party application the system crashes and gives me the errors, Win32full.sys, Kernel_Mode_Heap_Corruption, and Critical_Process Died.

This also sometimes happens with some Windows applications. But I’m able to run web browsers and go on the internet just fine. Nonetheless, sometimes the system still crashes, not as often though.

I will ask @PC Tailor and @gardenman to look at the dump files, the program we use to convert them has been throwing its own errors into mix recently so we see what we can find.

win32kfull.sys isn't an error in itself, its just the file that crashed in the error, so knowing what BSOD it is tied to will help.

Kernel_Mode_Heap_Corruption isn't an error I see a lot of.
Critical_Process Died seems to be the error of the month, some indication that a windows update might be to blame for why I have seen it too much this month. Any of the files it mentions in error are the victim, not the cause. There are windows files, that if they crash, windows has no choice but to follow.

Windows updates only downloads and installs some updates and then it says I’m up to date, which isn’t true, I’m missing many many updates.

which updates are you missing? the version you are on matches what I am running.

Hi, I ran the dump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://pste.eu/p/2jvF.html

You have the latest BIOS already installed.

This information can be used by others to help you. I can't help you with this. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

WHEA errors are hardware errors. They are errors called by CPU but not necessarily caused by it. Fact it works fine in Safe mode could be either the hardware that is causing BSOD wasn't being used or its a driver..

Since you got them while running installer, it makes me think its a hardware problem as the default drivers that are in the installer generally work with everything.

if you could run in normal mode, try installing Asrock App shop and see if it can update you, there should be a few drivers there - https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Z390 Extreme4/index.asp#Download

might help to download the drivers on another PC and install off USB - I would download these:
Intel Management Engine driver ver:12.0.34.1425_CONS_SW_MSI
Realtek high definition audio driver ver:8668_UAD_WHQL_DTS
Intel Lan driver ver:12.18.8.9_20190307
APP Shop ver:1.0.41
ASRock Polychrome RGB ver:1.0.42 (if applicable)

these are all on link above

While you at it, download this on another PC as well and install off USB - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool and then run it if you can

So memtest checked out fine
which devices in device manager show warnings? you don't have any GPU drivers running which is different

So, I was able to download the Asrock App ran it, and the my computer rebooted, but everytime it was trying to install the VGA drivers it crashed after 2mins in the process.

I was also able to download and install the IPD tool, ran it and everything in the CPU1 passed.

So what is in PC right now?
You removed gpu, which is why I assume you were installing vga drivers
1 stick of ram - F4-2400C15-8GIS - I can't see this code listed against the motherboard on here though there are codes very similar - https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Z390 Extreme4/index.asp#Memory
CPU - tests out okay
1 ssd I assume

it could be something as simple as wrong ram sticks or something more. At this stage, you can't run any tests that say "its the motherboard" as it is left to last for that very reason. I would be tempted to get a repair store to look at it, as they should have spare known working parts they can swap in to test the remainder. Shoiuld be able to narrow down range... though we already know its something in PC right now.

WHEA errors can be drivers but as you can't even install them, its hard to see if that is case or not. WHEA errors during install almost guarantee its hardware.

Another way to see if it is actually hardware is try to install LInux on PC instead and see if it has similar problems.

Hi Colif,

So in the end, after switching my mother board and the CPU, I’ve finally figured out the culprit was the CPU. Because I still got the same errors when I switched just the motherboard, but when I replaced the CPU for a new one, everything came back to normal, no errors at all. I installed Windows and activated it, and everything is running smoothly.

Colif, I want to thank you for all of your support and advice. Have a good rest of your summer.
