My second ram slot doesn't seem to work. When I have a RAM stick in it it starts, boots Windows up, then when I start to play a game, or do something, I get a bsod, or just a blank deep blue screen or it just freezes entirely. After that I have to manually power it down, by pressing the power button. Is this the mobo failing, or just a misconfigured setting? If I only use the first socket everything seems to be fine. I am also sure that the ram sticks are working well, compatible, and the same brand, same speed, etc.

Are you mixing two different kits of RAM?
List your full system specs including the P/N of your RAM.
"Are you mixing two different kits of RAM?"
Nope, same brand, Crucial, both ddr3, both 1600 Mhz, one is 4gb other is 8gb, I also have another 2gb which was already paired with the 4gb one, but does the same thing. I bought the desktop with already two different sizes of ram (4gb and 2gb). I recently bought the 8gb one, carefully checked to have the same attributes. The computer boots up, I can check the specs, it displays 11.4 gb Ram (because of integrated GPU), then after appr. 3 mins it crashes.

Check both sticks one at a time in first slot....
Also check if both sticks are compatible
Checked individually, in the first slot all sticks seem to work fine, placed it in second socket, freezes at the welcome screen. Until now I could at least check specs at My Computer, but now it completely freezes at the welcome screen.

The CT25664BA160B 8 GB stick voltage is 1.35 V ; the 2 other sticks are 1.5 V.
I guess that's the problem, as your motherboard can not apply different voltages to different slots

It's DDR3L which means it's able to switch between voltage or compatible with both 1.35v and 1.5v, if I researched it correctly. But the other thing is that it does the same thing if I place the 4gb and the 2gb together, despite both being 1.5v.

When you use 2 gb and 4gb ram together does it work fine?
No, it does not. Same things happen, freezes entirely after a couple of minutes, cant move the cursor, cant press keys, tried alt f4, or ctrl alt del, but nothing happens, i have to power it down manually, and take out of the second ram slot, then it works fine.

When using a single RAM stick, can you use any of the RAM slots ? The PC works correctly with a single RAM stick that can you can put in any of the RAM slots ?

Thank you for your answers, I'll try it.

Update: I installed windows 10, didn't really bother with the hardware stuff, as i had a busy month, but a couple of days ago, I placed the 4 gb stick next to the 8 gb one. and it booted well, checked the specs, it said 12 gb memory available and 11.4 is usable, (because of the integrated graphics, i think). Tried it out with games, they ran significantly better, but now it does the same things, firstly random bsod, something with ntfs file, couldn't read it, restarted by itself, then a while later, while i was playing rl, another crash, but it didn't restart or turn off, just froze the whole system with a loud buzzing sound, had to restart it manually. i tried it again, booted well, i didn't play games, but started to download some other game. it was running the whole day, no crashes. yesterday i turned it on, started playing games, and it just went black, supposedly tried to restart, but couldn't. the fans never stopped, kept going, but windows didn't boot. I tried to restart it but couldn't. I removed the 4gb stick, it booted fine, I placed it back again in the second socket, booted, then after 30 secs just froze. I also tried to boot it with all tha ram sticks by themselves in the first socket, and they all worked. Now it has 8gb inside, and i'm pretty sure it is a damaged ram socket, but then why did it work for a couple of days?
