Is there a program to record CPU and memory usage?

I'm trying to figure out where the bottleneck in my system is. I play WWIIOL and I'm still seeing some stuttering (in fps) while flying over large cities with other aircraft around.
I just upgraded from a GF 2 64mb to a GF FX 5700 Ultra 128mb DDRII.
I have:
ECS K7S5A MoBo
512 pc2100 RAM
AMD XP 1600

I would like to upgrade these over the next 6 months and I can upgrade in any order. So if I could find a program to record CPU and memory usage while I play, I could find out if the stuttering was the CPU or the RAM and upgrade that next...

any help is appreciated...

You could maybe use Windows System Monitor for that. I haven't used it indepth before, but there seems to be quite a number of items (like specific memory usage, various disk cache sizes, CPU, etc..) you can view, & you can even log them.

May I ask whether your disk is churning hard while playing the game? And if you haven't already done so, you could maybe also try tweaking your system for that game using this:

Moo.

thanks for the help...
no, my hard drive isn't "churning." I have tried various tweaks to run the game better but I see hardly any difference.

I have Windows XP Pro and when I type "sysmon" (without quotes) in run... it says: "Windows cannot find 'sysmon'...

dammit, is that supposed to work?

Ok, for XP it's different (I'm using 98). To get to the system monitor, follow the steps within this page (which I hope works for joo):
