i have an old CPU case that has two traditional front USB 2.0 ports. my new h110 motherboard supports one USB 3.0 header (can be connected to two ports) so i was wondering if i could use the same old case without sacrificing the advantage of loosing easily accessible front USB 3.0 connectivity. i know the cable that connects the port to the header is different but is there any other way i can get front USB 3.0 connectivity though my case supports only USB 2.0?

You answered your own question. Get the correct cable and you are done.

(of course I failed to mention the said cable may not have the correct screw holes blah-blah, but that's a mechanical thing anybody who have access to hand tools should be able to fix.)

You can't just "replace the cable". 2.0 and 3.0 internally are different. The entire port in the case needs to be replaced, and will likely require some macgyvering to get them to fit. Its not that simple.

Yes, yes. When I say cable I mean the cable assembly, the whole shebang.
