Is there a way to controll the Silverstone AP 181 or 182 via fan headers on the motherboard?

The SilverStone AP181 and AP182 draw too much power to be connected to a fan header on the motherboard; 1.3A, 15.6W at 2000 RPM and start voltages of 11V when running at low RPM. I have heard that because of this they require connection directly to the power supply with a provided 4-pin molex adapter, yet both versions have analog speed controllers which I assume work by changing the voltage. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Since this fan would be cooling my CPU I would like it to adapt to thermal demands, so my questions is this: Is there a way to control the fan speed via motherboard header for either of these fans with an adapter, or splicing into the controller's cables to connect to a header?

I am definitely interested in the AP182 over the AP181 due to the broader RPM range so here is more information.

I'd like to hear some answers as well... Or possibly a workaround so the fan can be controlled by the MB BIOS...

I'm using the Asus P8Z77V-LK.
