Hello, so I have a monitor (ASUS VP249QGR 144hz) and there's these black horizontal parallel lines on my monitor and I wanted to know if some repair shops or even myself can try and repair it. I didn't have the chance or the opportunity to replace it through warranty because shipping it to them would cost half the price of the monitor itself. Tried looking at forums and sites about this type of problem and nothing showed up. Tried almost everything from changing pcs, hdmi cable, and other things i can think of.

What i want to know now is that if repair shops can handle these types of repairs? I kinda hesitate going to repair shops at the moment because the last time i tried to get there to fix my old monitor, they said they can take care of it but they didn't fix it but still wanted me to pay for the cost of trying to repair.

I wouldn't take it to a repair shop. I don't know for sure if it's a back light going out but your right a shop would do nothing and, that will be fifty buck please.

Just wondering have you contacted manufacture about the issue and showed them a picture of the problem.

Sometimes thay will accept the claim and send you out a new monitor and have you dispose of there E-waste.

is the screen like this in the monitor´s settings menu (OSD) as well?
if yes:
Where did you purchase it? Can you get it to there? It´s a faulty panel / solder or glue joint. Hardware failure

try lowering the resfresh rate if it happens then too
try a different video port on the monitor and cable to the GPU

you could open it up (voiding the warranty for sure), try pressing the top or bottom and heat it up with a hot air gun where the screen is showing these lines. It´s still very unlikely that the lines will just disappear then.

Thanks for commenting! I purchased it online but still within my country, but it is still fairly far away from where i live (Only reachable by multiple ferries or plane). The shop i bought it from said that they wont replace it themselves (if they do) but they said they would bring it back to asus. They didnt say that my replacement is guaranteed thats why i hesitate giving it to them to check. The review on their shop about their products was very good but some reviews regarding their warranty replacement was bad.

Also tried lowering the refresh rate but still no change, i tried the vga port and hdmi port but i have no access to display port.

I also tried changing some settings on the monitor's menu but still nothing happens.
