Is there a way to know if my CPU is dead without a mono speaker ?

My new build pc wouldn't boot (fans and leds went on). I am pretty sure that my CPU is dead (DOA). But is there a way to determine if it's actually the CPU that isn't working and not something else ?


I checked all the cables twice, started with one RAM stick and erased the RTC RAM.

Every bit of help appreciated.

One of the more "straight forward" ways to know is to swap in another CPU.

I don't have another CPU in hand...
But I just saw that there was an orange light next to my RAM. I tjink that indicates that something is wrong with the CPU.
Is that correct ?

That usually means there is a RAM issue. What motherboard?

You can try booting with one stick.

If that doesn't work try booting with one of the other sticks until you are out of sticks.

Already tried booting with only 1 stick. Didn't work...

the motherboard may be telling you where the problem is.

I use lamp wire but any stranded wire will do. literally any stranded wires. strip one end like so

attach the stripped end into the speaker spring clips on the speaker.
the other end of the wire should be trimmed like so the semi strip

by doing a semi strip the wire case is now the socket.
plug one wire to the first pin, and the second onto the fourth pin.
power on the system and listen for beeps

I don't have a speaker like yours and don't have any wires...
