Is there a way to set default locations for downloads depending upon the type of file?

I use Google Chrome quite a lot and need to download various types of files ie doc, jpeg etc. Is there a setting/extension where I can set a download location for each file type.

For example,

If I download a .doc file - it will save to My Documents/Another Folder
If I download a .jpeg/another picture file - It will save to My Pictures/Another Folder.

Not a problem as such but it would be cool if there was a feature like this.

I don't believe there is an automated way to do this. Why? Because there are thousands of potential file extensions.
Downloads go to the Download folder. exe, jpg, doc, pdf, zip, png, iso, etc, etc, etc.

Great question. Looks like there are Chrome extensions that can do that.

There may be many more. This topic is discussed in these sites:
