Is there a way to use remote desktop or somethng else to connect to my PC from another location without me being at my home PC

Hi, I sometimes forgot something from home when I go out (say to my moms for dinner) and would like to be able to connect remotely to my PC back at my place to grab whatever I forgot. I wasn't sure if this could be done with Windows 10's Remote Desktop since I think (I've never used it) you need someone at the home PC to perform an action (click yes to allow remote access, etc) to make the connection.

Does anyone know of a way to make what I want to do work, either with Windows software or with 3rd party software?
