Is there an nVidia driver hack that allows 3 displays on a GTX 460?

Is there a driver hack or even a hardware hack that allows me to use all three uotputs on my GTX 460? I have 3 screens in wraparound (3840x1024) but only two are being used because the damn GPU "only supports two monitors" yeah okay nVidia...put 3 outputs on a 2 display monitor...

I don't know of any hack, but if your GPU supports two monitors, then your GPU supports two monitors. They put on more connectors to the GPU than are monitors supported to give people free reign to choose which connector goes to what monitor; not all monitors are created equal nor are all connectors. At this point you would likely need to upgrade either your platform or your GPU. If you upgrade the platform to a newer i3/i5/i7 you can have the third monitor run off of your iGPU, if you get a new GPU many of them are enabled for 3 monitors.

This is a hardware limitation and no amount of hacking will magically change hardware. They've been putting on 3+ outputs on cards long before the 400 series. Everyone did it and most old gpus only did 2. As genthug pointed out, it was to offer different outputs.

Is there a cheap i5/i7 DDR3 motherboard/cpu combo that I can get for less than $100, then? because my budget is severely limited right now. Unless there's a 32-bit PCI card that will grant me this functionality.

The 460 is a bit old .... comoing oin 7 years. A more modern card would take care of the tho.

GeForce GTX 1070 Single-GPU With 2D Surround (Landscape)

> Orientation: Landscape
> Accessory Display: Yes, no additional GPU (if using 3 or less displays)
> Maximum Resolution: 11520x2160
> Maximum Resolution (Bezel Correction): 10240x1600
> Maximum number of displays: 2-4 in Surround,1 Accessory Display when using 3 or less displays in Surround
Special Instructions:
> Any connectors can be used to enable Surround.
> Once Surround is enabled, users can use any
connector for the Accessory Display.
> Max of 4 displays can be used simultaneously (3 if monitors are 4K)
> G-SYNC and regular monitors can be mixed in Surround; effects of G-SYNC will only be seen on G-SYNC- enabled monitors

The 970/960 works to 11520x2160
The 770/760 also works to 7600 x 1600
The 670/660 also works to 7600 x 1600

Before we start recommending GPU's to you, what do you plan to do on 3 screens.
I ask because triple monitor gaming takes a much more powerful GPU then something like a business use would need.

On two 1280x1024 monitors I get 60FPS in Skyrim on a single GTX 460 (borderless fullscreen). The only thing that annoyed me was the bezels. I debezeled both screens but it turned out to be a waste of time so I got a third screen. Two 460s should work fine but I don't have enough for a second one and an SLI 775 motherboard that supports my Xeon.

1. First off, your budget was not there when I wrote the post. I typed the answer, then wifie came home from shopping and I took time to help her unload the car, put groceries away and start dinner. If you knew how forums work, you'd then know I would have been able to view your 2nd post when I came back.

2. Yes, there's something called reading and also research ... both would greatly benefit you. Heard of e-bay perhaps, the answer I gave you does in fact provide numerous options well within your budget. Perhaps if you weren't in such a rush to snipe at the people helping you ... and instead looked up the current price of the cards I listed, you would not be looking so foolish right now ... 660s are running $45-$50 ... 760s are running $80 ... I don't know what kinda math you use but both are < $100

Kere's several 770 for < $100

Apology accepted.

You said GTX 1070. That's over $400.

What was that you said about reading better ? ... and all the way to the end of the post.

Ebay is the worst place to get graphics cards because of the <mod edit> bidding system. I only get thing places where I can buy it immediately, like Amazon.

That's way out of my price range and ships in 2-5 weeks. My case fans from China take two days at max.

There is a used one for $100 and some change for shipping but by the time I get that much money again it'll have been sold.

Sorry about the language, I'm used to doing it on other forums like LTT and forget to not do it here.

If you're looking in the $100 range, then you're looking at EBay, you're looking at Amazon used, or you're looking at low end cards. If I were you; I would put this to rest until you have the money saved up for it. Once you have the money saved up for it, then I would go take a look around at what you can find.

For example, I searched for probably 2-3 minutes and found on Newegg a refurbed R7 360 which has support for 3 monitors at a maximum resolution of 4096 * 2160, for $80. I also found a refurbed GTX 950 for $120. Brand new GTX 1050, $110. And that's just from looking at one site. You might be able to find something else on Amazon, on EBay, etc. There are definitely options out there for you that don't only involve a $400 GPU or only involve EBay. EBay is simply a good site to look at when looking for used hardware.
