Is there any changes in ATX and Sqrew mounting? (Corsair Carbide 300R compatible with x470?)

Hi :) I am wondering if i can build a gaming ATX system in my old Carbide 300R Mid-tower ATX case, without too much hazzle. My main concern being the motherboard.
I'm thinking about upgrading to a Fractal Design meshify C TG White edition, but because of uncertainty in how much money i gotta spend in the next few months (on other things), im going to buy parts on sale from retailers at appropriate times.

IF you wanna know more about my plans. (answering my questions too would be sweet :>

I am thinking about upgrading my system a 7 years old intel i5 4760k, gtx 770, 8gb DDR3, CX500M psu system to a system with an AMD Ryzen 2700X, GTX 1080, 16GB DDR4, Asus themed with a ROG X470-F Gaming motherboard. Thinking about a 650 watt PSU and focus on air cooling.

The build will have to come together over a period of a couple months, as i mentiond earlier in my thread. So i want to upgrade the parts that actually make the system work first. Thereby, if i can save the money from the case for a while, that would be kind of nice :) Even though the old system still works, i've recently changed my two hyper X DDR3 sticks with some i had laying around, as it diagnosed faulty memory. Considering the age of the system, if things were to hit the fan, i wouldnt be too surprised.

I'm open to all tips and suggestions regards to my build plan, especially cpu air coolers and great fans both 140mm and 120mm with and without RGB :) Also predictions on GPU prices in the coming months and news on RAM prices <3

Thanks for reading :]

There's no change in ATX specifications. Your case will work fine considering you already have two front mount usb3 ports.

I've built newer systems in some very old atx cases with the only issue is modifying the case to actually have front USB ports & audio jacks. :)

Sweet :) Thanks for the quick reply :)
