For my first custom PC build: http://
I am going to be using an Xeon 3.4Ghz quad core processor, Im gonna use it for primarily video editing/game capturing and light gaming in minecraft etc. Im not planning to overclock the CPU so a K edition i7 wouldnt matter, would there be any performance difference/ gain with the i7? I would look at the i7-4790 if it would be worth it. The only main difference I see is the higher clockspeed so would this benefit my rendering in vegas? Many thanks Josh

Solution
There is little difference between the two. The biggest difference is that specific Xeon has no igpu. I would not pay extra to get the 4790.

I wasn't planning to use integrated graphics anyway, the i7 is quite a bit more expensive so I'll just stick with the Xeon if it has almost identical performance it wont be worth it. Thanks for the answer :)
