Question is there any difference between these two RM 850 PSUs? or is it only price

These two clearly have two different price points have have different distinct model numbers. I have a budget of $150 for a new PSU and looking at the 850 range. Any helpful advice would be helpful. Im sure i could get away with a 750 but id leaning toward the safer route and going with a 850. Thank for taking the time to look into my query.

Why on Earth do you need an 850W PSU?

Because they're two different products.

Check out @TJ Hooker 's link. The RMx is $20 more because it's $20 better. ;-)

I probably could get away with a 750 but id be shuttering pretty close to that number after overclocks and upgraded fans fan controller and the sheer size of my cases power draw. The price is pretty negligible and opted for a Seasonic Focus + platinum a dollar difference between the RM 850x.

A 3900X with PBO enabled still only draws ~150W. Even if we factor in 300W for the GPU and 100W for the rest of the system, you still have plenty of margin with 750W. Even a good 650W would do.
