Question Is there any differences in these two ram sticks?

The configuration ID is different but everything else is the same. Here are the two ram sticks.

The first is for Intel Z270 chipset and the latter is for Intel Z170 chipset. There is a difference in the driver interface as well.

Would the latter stick work in a Z270 motherboard?

yes it will work. but its compatible for the Z170 better buy the ram stick compatible for your Pc and buy kits not separately.

Its a leftover ram stick, should i just buy a new one?

Ok, I only ask cause I want to switch motherboards and I didnt want to buy new ram when I have this.
