My dad just wants to throw some drives in, connect it to the network, and have it work. More specifically, have each drive show up as a separate drives on the network, though with the ability to connect two of them in Raid0 for important photos and videos. As I have never used one, but aware that far too many new devices are coming with some time of external monitoring, I'd prefer one that has none or can be disabled. It's probably a lot to ask for, but I'm hoping there are potential options out there. Please and Thanks!

Just an example.
https://www.amazon.com/Direct-Attached-Storage/s?k=Direct+Attached+Storage

Shop around see what you can find.
If there is only one pc involved connect direct to the pc and get the network out of the mix.

Do not use RAID 0 for important storage!

What's your budget?

I meant Raid 1 : mirroring. Mistyped that...
Budget isn't necessarily an issue, though lower is typically better. I was looking around for something like this on Amazon, and the options I found were about $300-$400. 12TB Red Plus is about $250, and two or three of those would be nice for Movie drives, eventually, then we can add in a couple 4TB drives for mirroring important stuff. Just getting two 12TB cloud drives is something like $800, so lets say that is the current limit?
