[SOLVED] Is there any GPU I can buy to side-grade an R7 250 2GB GDDR3?

Hey everyone, my GPU recently died so I'm trying to see if I can manage to save some money for a cheap GPU.

I had an R7 250 2GB GDDR3, so I was hoping to find a sidegrade or the same GPU for under $100. I mention $100 because I live in Central America, so I have to add about $50 on top of the GPU price due to shipping and taxes. I have a 720p screen, so the R7 was getting the job done for most of the games I wanted to play, except recent ones (though some could be played at low FPS and low graphics).

I've seen that the GT 710 and 730 are under $100, but from what I've researched they are a downgrade from my previous GPU. I was also seeing that an R7 250 1GB GDDR5 should be a bit of an upgrade over my old one, but I haven't been able to find it being sold.

If I can't find anything under $100, I was thinking of biting the bullet and saving longer for a GT 1030, but first I wanted to see if you have any suggestions.

The GT710 is about half the effective speed of your old card, you would definitely notice the drop in performance.

The GT 1030 is around 70% faster than your old card and if you can find one that is what I’d recommend.

None of these options are viable for modern games but you can still have some fun with older titles from 2005-2010

Yeah, the 710 would really be the last resort option, since I want to at minimum do a sidegrade, though I guess how long saving money will take me is what's going to decide which one I get xD

as I always tell on threads of people planning to get a 1030. Go for the GDDR5 version. :)

As the others have suggested, the 1030 is the only one worth buying and be sure to get the right version. I have the MX150 which is a laptop version, it will play older titles like Halo MCC and stuff like that. Battlefield 1 and 5 will run at 720p with reduced settings but that is stretching it. Anything newly released will be too much.

shipping costs must be rought. i found a youtube explaining how to edit the windows registry to trick battlefield 2042 to work with my r9 290x. doesn't help performance, i still get low frames but it helped with compatibility. if your having issues with games saying your graphics card is unsupported this could help and i could explain more if you say this is your problem
