My PC is strong enough to support 4K gaming. However, is there any point because PC monitors are small so will I be able to see the difference from HD?
I wouldn't go 4k even if my pc could push it. Mainly because every 4k monitor I have seen is still 60hz refresh rate and personally I would MUCH rather play at 1440p 144hz than 4k 60hz.

Sitting as close as you do to a monitor it makes a bigger difference than having a 4k TV in most living rooms. Personally if you have that amount of GPU power I'd rather have a 1440p 144Hz monitor instead of 4k 60Hz if gaming is your main priority
i agree with the above, most of the time you will not have the power to push 4k at an acceptable framerate. 30fps is not acceptable for gaming. The only way to get a decent framerate will be to drop the res and not playing at the native res of the monitor looks like aids, go 1440p and a higher refreshm 144hz gsync/freesync is the sweetspot and will be for many many years.
Depending on the size if your getting a small monitor 1080P should work just fine. But if you dont want to see pixels as much go with 1440P. Same with 4k, more pixels and more gpu usage.
