My monitor (XB271HU - 1440p 144hz G-sync 27") is broken, it has a small physical crack on the screen due to object hitting it, and large spiderweb cracks behind the panel - the display wont change from black. I got it covered for insurance, but got to keep the monitor. I don't think its repairable (a few stores have said so).

So i'm wondering if I can take it apart (or someone else) and sell something like the g-sync chip. Is that possible or do you need to buy a specific chip to install it to a different monitor?

Thanks

The logic board and power supply might certainly be useful to someone. Buttons, maybe even the frame. Toss it up on ebay as parts only.

You can't just plug a G-sync chip into a monitor, it will be fully integrated into the monitor. Only the early prototype kits were sold separately, and only for a specific monitor.
