Hello there so i have a sony str-de425 and yes i know this is in the wrong forum post but, this is about thermal compound paste,so basically, with that sony i have blown 2 transistors, mn2488, and mp1620 and they both are on the heatsink and require a special thermal compound mixture without oil and no electricial conductivity,i have already found the no electric conductivity but i need help finding thermal compound paste without any oil in it.Thanks in advanced

Radioshacks nationwide have been closed. They have all gone out of business. I was more referring to places that do electronics repair like tv/stereo and small appliance repair shops.
I'd contact the OEM for recommendations. I'm not aware of any thermal compounds that don't use some form of oil for cohesion. Even the ceramic based compounds use some kind of oils. The oils are there to disallow premature drying of the compound so it's going to be pretty difficult to find one that doesn't use any.

ok thank you so much for your response,do think you could please visit the website to see if they ment by your oil on your fingers?Just in case here is the link and i know this isn't the same amplifier but is uses pretty much the same compound paste as mine and the same transistors. But here it is and also it is near the bottom where the compound information is:http://www.petervis.com/Amplifiers/sony-str-k740p/how-to-fix-sony-amplifier-protect-mode-error.html

It's saying exactly what you think it says, I simply cannot fine, after much investigation, any thermal pastes that do not contain oils. I'd suggest asking at a local electronics repair shop. They are usually pretty good about recommendations and may be able to point out a specific brand. If you get a shop with a jerk, try another shop, they're usually pretty good about helping with recommendations.

alright well thank you for this.this makes sense and same for the other guy.i will do both.
