I spilled water on my AN515-52. Now my keyboard is completely busted, i checked the racings and some were burned, so the keyboard is completely dead. However the motherboard and all other components work, i just need it to power on, and set up a Wake on Lan, so i can be able to power it on later through that.

Solution
the button is on the keyboard but it usually pushes a switch that is attached to the mobo.

you'll have to take the keyboard out and see what the switch looks like under it. if it still works, then simply push the switch in with your finger.

but considering this is usually a manual switch water on the keyboard should not stop the switch underneath from being activated. this does suggest further damage than you suspect is there.

it is a good idea to take it apart and be sure it is dry inside to prevent more bad stuff from happening.

Sorry, I know this is almost a year old, but I'm having the same issue. Water was spilled on the keyboard, and it stopped turning on. I replaced the mobo, but still nothing. So, it must be the keyboard, but I want to get it turned on so that I can confirm before I throw any more money at this thing. There's no stand alone power switch underneath the key, it's actually integrated into the matrix of the keyboard. My question is, which two pins at the keyboard zif socket can I short to turn it on? I've seen it done with other models of Acer notebooks using the last two pins on the left, but that's not working for this model...
