Is there any way to find out the exact manufacturer of a Nvidia graphics card without opening a case

(Obviously I can't see through the case to check, otherwise I wouldn't be asking this question)

Run CPU-Z or GPU-Z or similar program. Most of them can identify GPU without problem.

all the hardware programs i can think of list only the amd/nvidia chip model not the brand of the board.

can't really think of a way to find out without opening the case. perhaps you can scan the programs installed and see if there is any brand specific programs installed. generally they come pre-installed so you may get lucky and see a handful of things from msi/asus/or other brand specific stuff.


edit: rechecked gpu-z and though it only lists the amd chip i have if i clicked the "look-up" button next to it, then it took me to a page with my actual card on it. specs and all included. so maybe, you can get that running on the pc and see if ti does the same for you

GPU-Z will show the card manufacture, the lookup button will even show the exact model.

went back and checked and edited my post to reflect that after remembering it might do that somehow.

Piriform Speccy correctly shows MSI as the maker of my gfx card. It is listed as "Sub-vendor"

You might also be able to identify it (or other unknown hardware) using this method:

-Open Device Manager
-Find the device under Display Adapters
-Right click the device and select Properties
-Click the Details tab
-Select Hardware Ids in the chooser
-Google the info that you see there

I was able to identify a device listed as Unknown in device manager on my laptop using this method.
