Is there any way to improve on my build?

Looks pretty good though there are some small changes that could be made.
1. NZXT coolers have really bad price/performance and their CAM software collects data about you.
2. M.2 SSD would be much faster at that budget.
3. A regular Windows version might cost a slightly more than an OEM version but it'll be much easier to work with since it'll be tied to your Microsoft account instead of motherboard.

My recommendation.
1. EVGA CLC 280 has very good cooling and has RBG also cheap price.
2. Gigabyte Aurous 1080ti actual boost is over 1800mhz and the best 1080ti IMO. Has RBG.
3. Seasonic focus gold very good PSU and adds a little room with your power hungry CPU and GPU for extra boosts and overclocking.
4. Samsung 970EVO m.2 drive, awesome performance.
5. You could go cheaper on the motherboard and get all the performance you need for closer to $140.

Nope. It's an idiots safety precaution is all. Static electricity is nothing more than a difference in charge between 2 objects. So the case sitting on a table has a certain charge built up, you standing on the floor has another. When you touch the frame, that charge equalizes. An anti-static band, mat etc does the same thing, except constantly.

So as long as you touch the frame before inserting anything, every time, you are good. The idiots part is when ppl forget to touch the frame.

Me personally, I'm lazy and meticulous, so I lean my forearms on the frame when adding/doing anthing inside a pc. Problem solved.

Is one necessary? No, not really, is it worth the money? No, not really. Can it save your butt if you forget to touch the frame? Most probably.

Complete ASUS ROG RGB build with G-Sync monitor.
Phanteks Enthoo Pro is better case to work in as it makes the build easy and effort-less. It is also equally good looking case.
