Is there any way to make FSX use more than 3GB of ram?

I've been using FSX since adam was a cowgirl, but not matter what tweak i apply, the moment task manager reports FSX is approaching using 3gb, FS crashes and says "out of available memory".

i know the aces team has been disbanded, so we will never get an SP3 fro microsoft (short-sighted sods, given the huge and growing FS industry out there). but is there anyone anywhere who has somehow managed to crack this limitation? i would love to hear any suggestions.

thank you

Unless you install a x64 bit OS you will always have this limitation using a 32 bit OS. However depending upon the actual hardware you have, the processor may not be 64 bit capable. There are hacks out there however they are not guaranteed to work.

thanks elmo for your answer. i'm building up a high-end system, latest everything, 16gB, solid state drives everything. so nothing should limit FSX except that is't a 32-bit application. i know 32 bit running on a 64 bit machine has a total allotment of 4gig. but no matterhow many task i disable or assign to their own memory speciai never seem to have more than 3 usable.

i'm beginning to think the problem is unsolvable until/unless a 64bit FSX come along. but MS doesn't seem to care. if you hear of anything i'm still dying to hear -- all dressed up for the ball and the pumpkin is smashed,

I may have misinterpreted your original post, however; when you listed FSX, were you referring to Microsoft Flight Simulator?
