Is there any way to watch directv through my comp?

so i have a hd 5850 card and I was wondering if I would be able to plug my hdmi from my directv reciever into the hdmi port for the graphics card and watch tv on my computer?

maybe download some kind of software or something that can recognize the directv hdmi port connection?

no you can't do that, you'll need a separate tv recorder.
