The 280x is more expensive and will require a more expensive power supply, I would recommend the R9 380 4GB for it's DX12 features over the 280X if the OP wanted to spend a little more. the HDD failure rate is about equal, I buy whatever's cheaper at the moment between Seagate and western digital.
