I have a GTX 1060 6gb and am replacing the CPU Ram and motherboard. I chose Ryzen 5 2600X, MSI x470 Gaming Plus, and I already have Corsair vengeance Lpm 16 GB RAM.

LAlso I had huge issues in the past installing the wraith spire cooler. The screws were literally too low and small and the Ryzen 2600X would not screw in. And i know you do corner to corner but it was actually too far off. When I tried this it was with my B450 A-Pro. Any explanations? Was I doing something wrong?

Why would I have to reinstall the OS? You sure this is necessary?
What are your current parts?

When moving a drive+OS from an old system to a new system, there are 3 basic outcomes:
  1. It boots up just fine
  2. It fails completely
  3. It boots up, but you're chasing issues for weeks.
I've seen all 3.

The greater the difference between the parts, the more likely you'll see #2 or 3.
A clean install is strongly recommended, often required.

Also:
For the OS activation, read and do this before you change any parts:
