Is there really a need to update nVidia Drivers??

Currently, i'm on Geforce v382.05 (released on 04-05-17) and today i see that now a new update is available to me. which is v385.41 (released on 24-08-17) But i'm not willing to upgrade. As these updates are over 300 MB to download and i have never really seen any performance gain with these updates for my nVidia Gt 730. Also, i been been through a hard time with AMD drivers in past, so i generally do not like to update my drivers. But this time, it has been quite long since i last updated the drivers (exactly 4 months). So should i upgrade??

it adds support for new games but if you don't have any new games then it shouldn't matter
but it might include some bug fixes and if your lucky make your graphics card perform better, key words, IF your lucky

With a gt730 I'd consider it non essential, nvidia don't have a great history when it comes to adding support for older cards.
Most (if not all) of the updates will no doubt relate to the 10** series & maybe the 9** series at best.

If your NVIDIA based graphics card is a newer model, it is recommended that you update your graphic card drivers regularly to get the best performance and experience from your PC.

When NVIDIA releases a new product, over time software developers learn more about the architecture, and are able to gain better performance from this architecture through updated drivers. As a product matures, driver updates primarily provide bug fixes and compatibility with newer software.

Since it has been quite long since you had last updated the drivers, its better to update it which may have some bug fixes and fix some compatibility issue.
