Is there so much difference between intel i7 processors of 6th and 7th generations?

I've heard that i7 6th generation is not so stable. I am selecting for a good laptop and I've found some good choices but, they are with i7 6th generation. should I not compromise with 6th generation? is it that bad? Shall I spend a little extra and buy a 7th gen one? thanks in advance

7gen is only about 5% better, but never heard of 6th gen not being stable.

yah never heard anything bad about 6th gen chips. well at least not on any reputable hardware site anyway 😉

you're giving up very little performance with 6th gen over 7th gen. i'd get the 7th gen for another $20 or so but any more than that and i would not be able to justify the added cost.
