Is there something wrong with my CPU?

I got the 6600K and games are running so badly.

I've also got 1070 and 16 GB RAM.

Battlefield 1 will drop down to 70 or less FPS during action and that's on lowest settings. Same with Dota 2 and that's not a very GPU heavy game.

Seems like the CPU is bottlenecking me really bad.

Can I somehow check if it's faulty?

That CPU shouldn't be a bottleneck to a 1070. What are the rest of your system specs? Do you have a benchmark (like firestrike) you can use to test it? What resolution are you playing at?

Edit: also what are your temps like?

My temps are super low, like 40 during load.

I tried OC'ing the CPU yeah, currently OC'd.

PSU is pretty good, I spent a lot of money on it. I cba to open the case to check the exact model...Unless it's important?

EDIT: Found the PSU, see below.

Full system:

6600K
1070
EVGA 650W Hybrid Modular 80+ PSU
Seagate SSHD
HyperX Fury DDR4 2x8
MSI Z170-A Pro

I would try turning up the graphics, the 1070 handles those and likely isn't maxed out. See if fps stay the same, if so then may as well enjoy the eye candy. In bf1 your results look about normal, it's a very cpu intensive game and people have had mixed results. Some run a bit higher, others run at around 60-70fps in larger maps. Even i7's get pushed pretty hard though they seem to do a little better.

Dota 2 I'd expect higher, 100fps + with that combo. Is your internet decent? Slow(er) net and high pings could cause lag with the server. Maybe try another server if possible.

40c under load doesn't sound accurate, not if all 4 cores are heavily loaded and the cpu's running at 90-100% unless you're using a peltier cooler or your room is around 10-15c. Try double checking with something like realtemp, open it and game for awhile, then check realtemp. It will show the maximum temps your cpu reached.

70 fps is not uncommon since you have an i5. BF is one of the few games where you can actually see a difference with an i7.

Your PSU is of decent quality, thanks for posting model. How much you spent and how good the internals are is not a direct comparison. Just because you paid a lot for something does not stop it from being a lemon.

You can try turning off your overclock just to see if that has any effect, if the overclock is unstable then you would be less efficient at that higher clock speed.
