It should be faster than this...look at the write speeds :-/

Although it shouldn't make a difference connect your drive to your motherboard's 1st SATA port (SATA6G_1) and see if that improves your scores.

There's been some anecdotal evidence that the 1st SATA port on a motherboard gives slightly better performance.

Is this a pre-used drive? And is this copy of Windows the first copy ever on your SSD?

No, not a preused drive. I just bought it brand new from newegg last week. And yes, its the "first ever copy of windows" on my SSD .

Edit: I will note that Samsung Magician says otherwise...

I have the Asus M5A97 R2.0 , all are using the AMD SB950 controller. It is on the first port. Since writing this, it now takes forever for windows to shutdown/restart (usually 3-5 minutes)

Other owners are also reporting issues. Asus has issued a motherboard BIOS update and a drivers update.
