Is this £800 PC good?

It's a great build. However, the successor to the 4670K, the 4690K, runs cooler and is slightly quicker for the price. Plus, I would swap out the PSU for an XFX 650w unit, as it is much higher quality. Doesn't matter which one, they are all better quality than that Corsair unit.

people tend to hate those corsair CX power supplies. i honestly think since theyre obviously better than some no-name PSU, they'll do the job just fine. other than that....the f*ck*ng thing sucks. just kidding. it would be a very nice computer.

its basically what i'd buy. aside from adding an ssd. once you go ssd, you never go back. they just rule too much.

oh yeah, and for like 2 quid more on amazon, you can get the 4690k like dottorrent said. its newer and faster for the same price.

CX power supplies are good for budget builds that run well under 80% load on the supply. Also good for replacing OEM supplies. While Corsair does show they can do continuous output at their rated wattage, they are not intended to do that for long periods. They are to be avoided on setups that can overclock and support multiple GPUs which will have load spikes that will exceed the capabilities of the supply.

Better built supplies are rated for continuous output at quite warm temperatures. Their short term output capabilities can be staggering. Better stability as well. It is amazing the difference that a low-ripple power source can make when it comes to random crashes.

The reason of using the 4670k is that Newegg is so much cheaper because it is £25 cheaper, I would of picked the 4690k however Newegg doesn't sell it. Can you see the custom prices?
