Is This A Bottleneck for my gtx670

Hello, And as you can read from the title it is an very yes or no question and I know the answer is an yes but I want to know HOW much of an bottleneck because with my oced gtx 670 I am positive it can run BF3 on high but sadly i get like 20 fps with it on high and my comp specs are..
CPU: Core i5 3.2 ghz dual core 650
Ram: Plain 6gb ddr3 ram
Mb: some 2 year old MSI thing
So is this an okay bottleneck and medium bottheneck or WHAT THE EF IS THAT CARD DOING IN THAT SYSTEM?

im running at 1080p also BTW everything in this computer is from an 3 year old factory 700$ HP computer and the cpu I personally think is the main problem IDK its an VERY slow dual core 3.2ghz processor so yeah..

max for black ops 2 i get 60-100 FPS also remember I have a really shitty dual core plain ram and an outdated motherboard ETC is this normal??

i have a similar setup (i play bf3 a lot)
im using 2500k @4ghz, 670, 8gb ram

i run bf3 at ultra, everything but the kitchen sink. and i dont see it dip below 60fps. maybe it dips i dont know, but even if it does, the moment i peek at my fps, its >60.

afaik, bf3 takes advantage of quads, so if you have 2 cores yes most likely that is the problem. and also, try to oc, 3.2 is a bit low nowadays

yes, u see your cpu is a old i series "DUAL core" and it is a bottleneck.
since u get good enough FPS in other games, without a doubt it is a cpu bottleneck.
and mobo dosent affect performance in almost any way in a setup like your's.
and dont worry too much about ram either, atleast it is ddr3.
some people are still using ddr2!! ofcourse a better ram does improve gaming too, but not by a HUGE margin.
it is definately your cpu, the biggest bottleneck!!
also, do u play crysis 1 or 2 or warhead?

:heink: They do not need to upgrade to a i7 for gaming a Core i5-2500k or i5 3570K.You should know that it’s just about the best gaming processors you can get for the money today. With plenty of performance, top notch overclocking capability and enough horsepower to run any game you throw at it, the choice is a no brainer.

sadly it is lga 1156 could you send me an cheap motherboard that would fit the bill micro ATX or ATX IDK really just an 50-60$ motherboard that could be used to house an LGA 1155 and fit in an coolermaster HAF 922 casse

There appears to be no bottlenecks, that i5 will need an upgrade in 1-1.5 years however. An i7 920 may be worth a buy. But a i5 4670K and a LGA1150 Haswell board will very much satisfy you with no possibilities of bottlenecks when they come around. But honestly a new build (with scavenged parts) is the way2go.

I wouldn't rule out the mobo&generic ram as an issue. I've read articles about how NOT cpu intensive BF3 is. For instance, I run BF3 on my laptop which has an i5-2450m and my brother plays it on a laptop with an i7-(same gen don't know model). Anyhow, he has a gt540m and I have a slightly better (arguably the same tbh) 630m, and I get better frames than him. Here's the article for you. I truly believe that the i5 ISN'T the problem.
