Hi my cpu is a Intel Pentium E6700 @ 3.20Ghz and i just ordered a Asus 1gb 650ti on amazon for $130. My current graphics card is a ati radeon 4850 . I mainly upgraded because my current cards idles very hot and fps drops in many games. Also because this was a great deal.

I play games at 1920x1080
im able to play skyrim on high at around 35fps
BL2 at around 30fps high
and alot other games.

Was this a good upgrade and will there be a bottleneck? Thanks! 😀

i think there will be. my E7500 at 2.93Ghz did bottleneck my GTX460 which is much slower than GTX650 Ti. if you can OC your cpu then do it. at least it will be to reduce the bottleneck. other than that you should get much faster performance and much cooler gpu.

im not sure if its possible to OC since this was a stock cpu that came in my hp pc that i ghetto rigged into a gaming pc

normally OEM mobo lack the option that allowing the processor to be ovcerclocked. but if you want to upgrade because you want much cooler gpu like you mention in your first post then it is fine to go for it. maybe it is time for you to start saving so you can build proper gaming pc for yourself.

Yes i plan on building one soon but do you think the 650ti was a good upgrade for the time being? if not i might as well cancel the order and save my money (amazon)

Alright thanks il just install the 650ti and if i like what i see il keep it or else il just return it.
