Is this a dead pixel?

Just bought a new LCD monitor (ASUS MX27AQ). Had it in my possession for about 24 hours and I just noticed this:

I can't really tell if it is a dead pixel, or dirt. There seems to be some spread to it, and if I place my pointer under it and move my head left or right while focusing on it, there appears to be some parallax.

It's either a stuck pixel or dirt. Try wiping it off with a soft micro fiber cloth. Do you have any screen cleaner?

I did try that, but it looks like it's on the inside. I say that because when I touch the screen with my fingertip there's a very small, but visible space between that and the dark spot.

Then it is looking more like a stuck pixel. 3 pixels to be exact, from the appearance in your photo. Does it ever change color?
If the monitor is still under warranty, it may be best to return it.

It never changes color. I love this display, but it looks like I'll be getting in contact with ASUS. Thanks for your effort, my friend.
