Hey everyone, one of my friends wants a new gaming PC but he does not want to spend more than 600 dollars, after tax. I've found all the components for, what seems to me as, a decent budget gaming PC. I've gone with an AMD build since they seem to have better valued parts. Ill list and link all the components below. Please don't be shy to let me know if i could upgrade, downgrade parts to conserve price, ect

I live in Canada so please try to use Canadian prices

Wow thanks for the very quick reply! I've looked at that case and I would very much enjoy a case with some decent cable management, ive read that the Asgard II doesn't have very good cable management. Thanks for showing me that CPU, MoBo, HDD combo package, but it still makes the build too much, around $780. Also i feel comfortable with that Antec 550 watt. Thanks for showing me these though i will continue to search around

Any future of OCing? If not, then I would go with this build:

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352009

Total: About $580 w/ tax and shipping (might be different in Canada though)

I actually when with an Intel build since you have a great CPU (the i3 2130 beats the AMD CPU of the same value). You have an upgrade path to higher end CPUs such as the i5 2500. Everything seems to fit very well here.

Here's mmy wacky suggestion, except cpu, prices are ncix.:

AMD FX 6150: ~$190
ASUS M5A78L-M LX 760G am3+ Motherboard: $56.99
Gskill 4 GB DDR3-1600: $32.99
Antec HCG 400W: $39.99
Coolermaster Elite 330: $40.30
Seagate 1TB SATA 3 HDD: $59.99
LG DVD player: $19.99
PowerColor HD 6850: $159.99

total: $607.33 (assuming the $190ish price is right)

Thanks guys, let me just make some things clear. This is for my friend, he has no PC knowledge about building computers or bios knowledge, ecetera. He most likely wont even open the pc to look around as he wont even know if the parts are good or not, so please don't talk about K series CPU's as no overclocking will be done.

I know that, but ive been reading so many 600 dollar build forum posts and they all start to change the specs to k series and upgrading things. I want to keep this strictly 600, maybe a little bit more after tax.

Great stuff, im not liking the case though, i would realllly prefer something with good cable management, also i would also like to have a modular power supply, ive found 4 gigs of rip jaw series ram which seems good. im going to stay with the first GPU ive found because he needs two monitor DVI support.

yea i understand that, ive been researching for the past few hours and just as i thought in the beginning, The AMD cpus will be dominant over intel for a 600 dollar pc

I'd suggest at least a 3-core. thsi is from NCIX, with usually better prices than newegg.
