Hello,

I don't know much about computer builds, so I was wondering if anybody could take a look at my build.
The most demanding application that we are going to use is Ableton (music production and recording).
The website from which I want to purchase does not matter as long as it delivers within a couple of days in the Netherlands (like Azery, Alternate).
The build I got so far is made in Alternate.

My questions:
Is there a component where I can save money?
Are the components compatible with each other (do I have the right slots, does it fit in my case)?
Are there things that do not make any sense?

Location: The Netherlands, currency Euro

My budget:
700-1200 euro, but prefer to not spend more than needed.

My demands are:
Good enough CPU for music production with modern socket 1700 infrastructure.
motherboard with at least 2 M2 slots and 1 pcie4.0 slot for potential (low performance) GPU in the future.
A quiet system with sufficient cooling.
32 GB ddr4 memory.

No overclocking.
No gaming.
No GPU is needed.
No disk drives are needed.

The build can be found via this link: BUILD
CPU
1x Intel® Core i5-12400, 2,5 GHz (4,4 GHz Turbo Boost) socket 1700
€ 239,00
motherboard
1x GIGABYTE B660M DS3H AX DDR4, socket 1700
€ 139,00
CPU cooler
1x Noctua NH-D9L
€ 59,90
Memory
1x Corsair 32 GB DDR4-3200 Kit
€ 104,90
Storage
1x Harde schijf (SSD): WD Blue SN570, 1 TB SSD
€ 89,90
casing
1x be quiet! PURE BASE 500DX Window tower-case
€ 109,90
PSU
1x be quiet! Pure Power 11 400W
€ 59,90

Thanks a million.
I am new to the forum so my apologies if I am doing something wrong.
Kind regards,
Joost

I would definitely recommend a better board. The B660m DS3H has poor power delivery. I would also step up to an i7 12700. More cache, more cores, and more threads.

Just an FYI, all your links take me to a professor selection page, among other processors. Best list the links under each component. Where are you located(your alias makes me think you're from the Netherlands)? What is your budget(since our audience is global, you should mention your currency as well)? What is your preferred site for purchase? You should also include the apps you'd like to work with during your production work.

Thank you for the tips, I updated the thread. I removed all the links and added one link to the entire build

To be very honest, if you're going to be working with Ableton, you should be looking into a Mac, not kidding. I used to DJ and till today all music production folks trust their lives on Mac's...they are better built and lack the white noise that PC's tend to have, in their audio mastering/production. My 2 cents on that matter ;)

Thank you, looks great! I will either go for this build or a mac. Further research is needed.
