Is this a good build, and are all the parts compatible with each other?

I wish to game at 1080 res with more then 30 fps and medium/high settings. My budget is between 30-40 k in INR. I already have a GTX 960 and Antec vp 450 watts PSU. Here is my rig-http://assembleyourpc.net/rigs/131671

THe 8350 loves power but the 960 is no waster. A 450W PSU should get you through with what you listed. However, I'd sugest getting a 8320 instead and a better mobo, then overclock it some day. But that brings you to thinking...do I need a new PSU and you might want to get a 600+W one for the future.

Other than that...it's all compatible.

Apparently the fx 8320 just meets the system requirements of something like mgsv the phantom pain. I want a CPU that is slightly better. I know that CPUs dont make much of a difference in comparison to the graphics card when it comes to gaming, but still.

Will the Antec V1 cabinet be fine with this rig?

FX 8320 will OC nearly as well as an FX 8350. If the cost savings is significant, I would go with the 8320 and put the money you save into a better motherboard and cooler.

Another alternative is to go with an FX 6350 + your GTX 960. This will handle games like the Witcher 3 fairly well, with good cooling and a moderate OC on the CPU. it will also save you some money. And early tests show Windows 10 + DirectX 12 will use 6 CPU cores, but not quite use 8.

Regardless of which CPU you go with, 2 changes I would definitely make:

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P
Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

FX 8 cores need a strong power circuit and good cooling.

* R9 280x gives similar performance to GTX 960.
** I've had my FX 6350 to 4.950GHz stable on the motherboard I recommended, 4.8375GHz for 24x7 operation. It's a solid combo.

Suppose I were to take an i5 4440, would that be better then either of these two? I have heard that intel i5s are generally better then amd cpus and the i5 4440 is in the same price range. I know that I will have to change motherboard in the list, but I wouldn't need to change any other part in my list, right?

No better, especially in modern multi-threaded games. i5 4440 is about as fast as a stock FX 6300. They run +/- 8FPS of each other in most current games. They are both midrange CPUs, but the i5 will usually cost a bit more.

Watch the whole video. After the first 30-60 sec of FarCry 3 they start to even out. In the Shadow of Mordor test you will see the FX 6300 has more objects on screen and is a hair faster than the i5 4440. So they are actually pretty close to each other overall.

Yes, get a i5-4440 instead of fx-83xx. 95% of benchmarks show the i5 to be better. Also, it needs less power. The fx-83xx series is only good if overclocked. So, keep that in mind.
