Is this a Good Build for a 1440p 144hz Monitor?

Solution

Sounds like a plan. The only other thing I would consider is possibly 16GB of RAM, since you're doing such a nice system. 8GB is plenty most of the time, but 16 is quickly becoming the norm.

Yes and No.

Can you expect 144+ FPS at 1440p on low-medium settings in some low intensity games, yes. But you will barely get 60fps in most modern games at medium-high settings.

A single 970 is much more suited for 1080p 60fps+ gaming than 1440p.

I recently upgraded from 1080p to 1440p with my 970, and soon after got a 980ti because it just couldnt handle it properly.

You have an adequate CPU in the build, so your FPS will hinge mainly on your graphics card. Just look at graphics card reviews that reference FPS in those games. You'll see what you can expect in great detail. Cliff's notes, though, if you really want 100+ FPS on high settings at 1440p, you'll need a GTX 980 Ti.

So if I just change to 980ti will I be able to get 144fps+ ?

Frame rate really does depend on what game your playing though.

For example, youll get a solid 144+fps on games like League of Legends and World of Warcraft, but you wont do on more demanding games like GTA:V and Witcher 3. In order to get really high frames on those games, you'll need to turn the graphics down a bit.

I have Gigabyte G1 980ti and even that can't push to 144 fps with 1080 resolution on AAA titles. Fallout 4 is 50-60fps, GTA 90fps, Shadow of mordor 100-110fps and mad max similar. You will get even lower fps on 1440.
