Get a 4x4GB or a 2x8GB RAM kit. You'll take a performance hit with only 3 sticks, since you will only be able to run your RAM in single channel mode instead of dual channel. You want to have 2 or 4 sticks.

3x4GB ram is for old intel i7 920 that use tripple channel
