PC expectations:
Primary
- Games on highest settings (Starcraft 2, Battlefield 3, Guild Wars 2, Skyrim, etc)
- Use screen recording software (Camtasia) while playing games on high or medium settings
- Use voice chat software (Team Speak 3) while gaming and recording
- Play music via Windows Media Player or YouTube while gaming
- Moderate to heavy multitasking while editing/designing
Secondary
- Run Norton Antivirus scans and software updates while doing non-gaming tasks without much lag
- Photoshop high res images
- Web design (Expression Web)
Tertiary
- Edit and render HD video (Sony Vegas)
- 3D Modelling software's for character and level design (Maya, ZBrush, 3Ds Max, UDK)
CPU: Intel Core i7-3820 3.6GHz Quad-Core $293.98
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid $103.99
Motherboard: EVGA 132-SE-E775-K2 ATX LGA2011 $139.99
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 $139.99
Storage: Kingston SSDNow V200 Series 256GB 2.5" SSD $159.99
Storage 2: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $62.99
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 4GB $509.99
Case: Thermaltake VN300M1W2N ATX Full Tower $119.99
Power Supply: Corsair 850W ATX12V / EPS12V $171.98
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 DVD/CD Writer $15.98
I will use dual monitors, one for a game (windowed) and the other for everything else when gaming.
Does this build seem compatible and is all the hardware a good choice and good brand (optical drive hardly matters at all)?
Am I over paying on any of the parts?
