Is this a good build?

I would like to make a pc that will run games like cod ghosts and assassins creed at high to ultra settings with around 30-40 fps. What do you think? I am also working with a budget of about 700 (including os, monitor, and other accessories)
Processor: Fx 6300
Graphics Card: Nvidia geforce GTX650 2GB
Ram/Memory: Kingston Hyper X 4GB (getting 2 for 8gb)
Motherboard: MSI FM2-A55M-E33
Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 TR-500 500W
Case: Rosewill FBM-01
Hard Drive: WD Blue 1TB
DVD Drive: Asus DVDRW
The total of this comes out to be around 500. Also, should I ditch Windows and go with Linux Mint 16?

The CPU and motherboard are not compatible, they use different sockets. You'd want a more powerful graphics card than that. And the power supply is poor quality AFAIK.

you need am3+ motherboard and get a corsair 500w psu.

No, the GPU is low end and will play at a mix of low and medium settings.

The PSU is junk. Replace with Antec, XFX, Corsair (not CX), Seasonic unit.

The motherboard is not compatible. You need an am3+ motherboard.

At medium setting you should be bale to play locked at 60fps.
