So i was wondering If this was a build that could be built as im looking for a new pc to play games as this iMac isn't doing me any favours in the fps department.

Really? Nobody noticed the socket incompatibility? Major problem there.
First off, your Motherboard is socket FM2, meant for APU's. Your cpu is socket AM3+, which means that you need an AM3+ motherboard.
Here is a great example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131851

Secondly, the 290X is going to be bottlenecked by the 6300, so I suggest you tone it down to a 270X or a GTX 760.

Your power supply needs to be higher, even with a lower gpu, 430 watts isn't enough. I suggest a CX600.

Modified.
