Is this a good build?

I've recently found a $600 gaming build and I want extra opinions on this. This is assuming I have the OS, moniter, mouse, keyboard, etc.

Case- NZXT Tempest 210 http://

Power Supply- Corsair Builder Series CX430 430W http://

CPU- AMD FX-6300 six-core 3.5GHz Am3+ http://

Motherboard- ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX http://

Memory- Corsair Vengeance Blue 8 GB (2X4 GB) PC3-12800 1600mHz DDR3 240-Pin SDRAM http://

Storage- Western Digital WD10EZEX 1TB HDD SATA3 3.5" http://

GPU- AMD Radeon R9 270 2GB http://


I'm wanting to run most games at high detail with normal resolution. Arma 3, Arma 2, BF3, etc.

FX 6300 + R9 270 is a good match. High with some ultra is doable. Get a good aftermarket cooler and a 4.4-4.5GHz OC is realistic.

DDR3 1866 RAM is supported, but if you have chosen low latency DDR3 1600, that is just as good for gaming.

I wouldn't trust the CX430 to power the FX-6300 and R9 270X, and never for an overclock. You'll be maxing its capacity, and it's not exactly an elite PSU to begin with.

What would you recommend I get? Or how much power do you think I'm going to need?

500w, probably. I believe XFX makes some relatively inexpensive high quality 550w power supplies. A Corsair CX500 would be enough as well.
