I'm about to build a new computer next year. So this is the specs I've choosen:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo
GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 980 4GB
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 7
RAM: Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 16GB KIT
SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB 2.5" OEM (with OS and games and programs)
Sata Disk: Seagate Barracuda® 2TB
OS: Windows 10 (when it comes out next year)
PSU: Corsair CX 750M
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl

Is it a good build? I really need to know! I'm editing and rendering videos in Sony Vegas and Photoshoping and especially, I'm RECORDING VIDEOS AND LIVE STREAMING!

This is a great build, just swap out the PSU to either a evga g2 or anything in a tier one to tier two PSU read this

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

Your build will last 4-5 years. To the guy spouting nonsense up top please, don't, his build is solid. If a 2nd gen intel core can last this long, or even a 1st gen intel core can last this long and hold its own in today's gaming this will do the same thing for the future games.

Watch out what and how you address people.

He said he wants to build NEXT YEAR. Next year Broadwell will be available. Why would you advise him to build with this setup when next year he can use Broadwell processors, possibly DDR4 RAM and faster PCIe SSD?

Sure, it's a good build for now, but not for next year.

Broad well, sky lake, they will be overpriced and ddr4, sure it has double bandwidth, but they are so expensive. He can take advantage office drops with this build and still get great eperformance. And I'm sorry how I address you, but devils canyon was made to last, not upgrade in a year 😛.

Attack the position, not the person. Stick to facts and back up your claims with links.

The originally proposed system, with current tech, is certainly a strong system and will meet the OP's needs for a couple of years, easily.

Of course, future components (including more expensive bleeding edge/recently released stuff) will nearly always out-perform current stuff.

Keep it civil, please.

I'm sorry moderator, I shouldn't have acted out ^^' I just get frustrated with people who give bad advice.. It's pet peeve and I'll try to correct it.

Then I'm sure you are often frustrated by your own advice.

The OP never asked for a money-saving build. No mention of a budget. Clear requirement for video editing and live streaming. High performance would be indicated. It would not be "good advice" next year when higher-performing components are available to recommend a build that will not be "best in class".

Furthermore, you also state "but devils canyon was made to last, not upgrade in a year" . THat is true. one should not have to upgrade a Devil's Canyon processor within 12 months. However, after newer processors are available, NEW builds should consider the price/performance of those components within the scope of their intended use.

You conflate new and upgrade as if there is no difference.

But the devils canyon is made to last. His I7 4790k can handle live streaming for years to come, yes he can select a new list, but I suggest he sticks to it. Ivy bridge and sandy bridge can live stream just fine and edit. Haswell does a better job and then when broadwell comes out he can upgrade in 2-3 years after broad well. His PC will last a long time. But if he does choose to swap out, then he can go ahead. But I'm merely saying that it is not needed.

Haha thanks everyone! I just needed to know if it's good. I will probably change to a socket LGA2011 processor later. And change graphics card of course. And I have to mention that I have 3 monitors and I will just play games on ONE. And I'm not playing games like BF4. I'm playing games like Minecraft, Black Ops II and I just want to have a good streaming computer.

So thanks everyone! 😀
