I plan to order a PC sometime in mid august.
8350, hyper 212, msi 970 gaming mobo, nzxt noctis, g.skill ripjaws 32gb 1866, 1tb hdd, 240gb pny ssd, was going to pair up my 750 ti ftw with another, but figured out sli wasn't possible with this card. so i decided to go and buy two 960's, good choice? better performance or what? and is the psu good for this build? platinum certified.

Most of the components are fine, a couple changes you can make, first is that you should not get 32GB of RAM unless you plan to be doing workstation type tasks (rendering, film editing, etc.) I would recommend 8GB - 16GB for gaming.

Second is that instead of SLI 960s you should look into a single R9 290X or a GTX 970, you get similar performance for cheaper, and without the headache that SLI can bring!

Other than that everything seems fine, a tiny change you could make is going with the Samsung 850 EVO 250GB it's great reliable performance that a lot of people love.

Just my two cents, feel free to ask any questions you may have.

I'm not a big fan of AMD GPU's.
Haven't tried them, been with nvidia all this time and liking where I'm at. What pains with sli do you see? I've never dealt with sli before. So I'm not sure about it. Might go with the samsung 850.

edit: is the power supply good for this build?
and i know 32gb is over kill, prob should tone down to 16. I have 6gb of ram in my current build.

You have a tier one power supply so it's just fine, you have nothing to worry about there.

As to the question of SLI, you don't really get day 1 release support like other users, most SLI profiles don't come out until at least a week after most games have been launched, not to mention the extra trouble shooting, beta drivers, and general host of issues that come along with SLI (for instance micro-stuttering). If you want to see for yourself just google "SLI Issues" and you'll come up with plenty of reasons as to why SLI is just a pain sometimes. Some people will have better luck than others but the 970 is going to be cheaper and a hell of a lot easier to setup while having the same level of performance.

Hmm. Suppose I'll go for a 970 then. Now, I'm looking to get maximum performance out of the card, do you happen to know which specific version of it I should get?

Bump, I need an answer for my question.
Thinking about getting a 980 ti instead of a 970 - would it bottleneck?
I plan on ocing my processor a lil bit, to maybe 4.5 ghz since i have my 212 evo.
