Hi guys. I've finally completed my PC build and just wanted to double check that this would run GTA V @ 1080p 60fps.

AMD FX-9590 Black Edition
Asus Raedon 290X
Asus Crosshair V Formula Z
Samsung 256GB SSD 850 PRO
16GB GSkill RipJaws
4TB WD Black

nb: Whilst alternate parts are great to know, my mate offered me this for £600, which from what I can see is better than what I'd be able to otherwise get for the price. He also included a mouse and monitor worth £150.
nb2: I can't remember what he said the PSU was, but he's used this as his PC for a while so it WILL handle the parts just fine.

Solution
For gta v , it will likely reach 60fps on high/ultra mixed but may drop lower and probably won't maintain constant 60fps all the time.

cpu at 1080p high/ultra with titan x gpu, frames can dip to 50fps.

gpu (290x is slightly better than the 290) - which averages around 50fps - maybe higher with settings adjusted.

NH-D14 or any similar grade air cooler will do.

Maybe not 1000W, but 750-850W would likely be recommended.

Thats actually relative, for sure it doesn't have to be a full tower, since people are fitting SLI's /CF's in mid towers which are doing well enough.

See https://www.pugetsystems.com/parts/CPU/AMD-FX-9590-4-7GHz-220W-9542

"These FX-9000 series processors use this same core design, but with its performance absolutely maxed-out. They are among the first processors to ever ship with clock speeds above 4GHz, but in order to reach these tremendous speeds they run at twice the thermal output of most other CPUs. This level of heat requires liquid-cooling, and AMD also recommends using 1000W or higher power supplies to handle the added electrical draw."

About PSU, conclusions are similar as mine, though i didn't read it before:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2037930/750w-psu-support-system-9590-290x.html

As for air cooling, considering top qualify air coolers are in most case superior over low-mid grade WC solutions i still don't think WC is required.

Those recommendations are lets just say pessimistic.

9590 is basically 8350 or other Vishera brutally overclocked by AMD, just look at the comparison of the voltage range of both:
- 9590 1.91 - 2V
- 8350 0.82-1.45V

Of course for such heavy OC'd CPU you NEED a top notch cooler, but not like WC is the only way.

This way or another we are heading out of topic.... as for the topic answer "Is This a Good Build?".
This build is like US muscle car... it isn't fancy tech, it hard to handle, its a thirsty and loud V8 but in correct hands its a beast on wheels.
